Not flashy, not loud. Just there every time, which turns out to be everything.

No highlight reel. They just show up, again and again, for the boring stuff and the hard stuff. Early on I underrated this. I was looking for impressive when what I actually needed was reliable.

Find the person who keeps their small promises. That consistency is contagious, and it's most of what people mean when they call someone solid.
