One of my favorite Tinglish (thai-english) slangs I learned while living in Thailand is chai bro. It’s like agreeing with someone but with a little more oomph; it's a signal that both of you are aligned.

I spent the past two years living a more nomadic lifestyle, staying a few months at a time in Thailand and a few other countries around the world. It's because I focused most of my twenties going up the career ladder, and like many Americans, I was only allowed such a limited time per year to explore outside of the country. But i was definitely more than just having an itch to travel.

Even more than that, I was only allowed such a limited time to myself.

I spent the past two years living in Thailand and a few other countries around this planet. I created a new version of me that's more nomadic because with the previous version, I felt so misaligned… with myself.

I felt trapped in every way possible. First, I felt trapped in my job.

First, I was trapped physically. There’s only so many cities in the United States where tech jobs are available. Also, like most Americans, the time I was “allowed” to take a vacation from work was extremely limited company.

I was also trapped in my mind,

One of the reasons I traveled to Thailand was to align with myself. I flew out here just shortly after quitting my 9-5 in the United States and intentionally set out to live a more nomadic lifestyle. I was hoping that I’d find a new purpose, but even more than that: freedom. And after two years, I found more freedom, but I also found something else.
